Arnold Schwarzenegger made headlines in May 2011 for admitting to adultery and fathering a child out of wedlock. Long before his infidelity scandal, Schwarzenegger was best known for being a movie star and the Governor of California.
Schwarzenegger was born in Austria in 1947 and moved to the United States at age 21 to pursue a career in bodybuilding. His physique earned the attention of filmmakers, and by 1970 he was successfully transitioning into an acting career.
In 1984, Schwarzenegger starred in his most iconic film: The Terminator; he later starred in two sequels. He went on to act in Twins, Junior, Jingle All the Way and many other action and comedy films.
Schwarzenegger married wife Maria Shriver in 1986; the couple have four children together: Katherine (born in 1989), Christina (1991), Patrick (1993) and Christopher (1997). He was elected the Governor of California in a 2003 recall election.
Shriver filed for divorce in 2011 after 25 years of marriage shortly after Schwarzenegger confessed that he had fathered a child with their housekeeper, Mildred Baena.
